In light of recent developments in the Durban digital sphere, we believe that a unified voice is required, for the professional digital community in KZN.
Durban Digital Day is proud to support the launch of the Digital Professionals Organisation – Durban Chapter.
We support and propose the creation of an industry body that will promote the following for digital professionals:
We invite all digital agencies, professionals and institutions that share our vision, ethics and passion to please join the movement. We look forward to creating a unified channel and presence.

Justin has operated in all the disciplines in the communications field from advertising to sponsorship across virtually every client category. Global brand experience includes British Airways, Colgate Palmolive, Unilever, Nestlé, Proctor & Gamble, L’Oreal, British American Tobacco, MTN, HSBC, Nokia, Renault, Nissan, Land Rover, Masterfoods, Danone, Sara Lee and Beiersdorf. Local brand experience includes Edcon, the SPAR Group, the JD Group, the SABC, Independent Newspapers, Wimpy, Steers, PG Glass and SA Breweries.
He took up the position of Group MD at TBWA\ Durban in 2010, responsible for Hunt Lascaris, Tequila, Motion, Red Sky, D\M\Y, Media and Edge. A relative newcomer to Durban, he was struck by the relatively low levels of industry co-ordination as experienced in Johannesburg, Cape Town, London and Dubai and is very eager to extend the kind of self-regulation that exists within other regions to KZN while stimulating greater industry engagement both within and outside of the region.

After matriculating at Table View High School in 2003, Conrad enrolled at Cape Peninsula University of Technology where he pursued his passion in the Marketing and Advertising field. In his spare time he spent evenings around movie production studios as an extra for Hollywood Productions in the City of Cape Town.
In 2007 Conrad started to climb the corporate Ladder as a Sales Representative for Engen Petroleum where he first learn how to deal with customers and pitch projects to senior management.
In 2008 Conrad ventured to London to pursue a career in Advertising,Shortly after he acquired a position at a Skills development college, where he educated foreigners the basic Maths and English skills using computers. It was here that he grasped the concept of world communication and connection and how similar we as mankind are once we relate to a focused idea.
In 2009 Conrad returned to Cape Town South Africa and acquired a position as the Operations Manager to a Neotel Channel Partner.
In 2010 Conrad embarked back to his Home city, Durban.Where he pursued a career as an entrepreneur with Mzansi Chemicals – a Cleaning solution company. It was here that he created a website in 5 days which gained over 20 000 hits in 3 days.
Being a computer user since 1992, Conrad has always engrossed all his activity around IT. Understanding the Ones and Zeros to its simplicity and transferring information regardless of his geographical location.
Hashtag South Africa was the concept birthed out of the National Development Plan 2030 for South Africa, where he has identified the problems in his sphere and created actionable solutions for the next 17 years.
With a natural flair for the written and spoken word, and an intuitive knowledge of communications, her resume reflects work experience gained in diverse industries including retail, mining, film, media and community radio as 90.4 FM Morning Drive Show resident newsreader
During our evolution the companies name changed to Rick Crouch & Associates and we now specialise in website design from static sites to ecommerce and database backend sites, Social Media Marketing, computer forensics and computer training covering Windows OS, MS Office Suite, Web Design, Social Media and Social Media Marketing for business.
Rick Crouch & Associates’ main office along with companion company Option-One Investigations is still located in Los Angeles County and I am expanding our reach with local South African representation here in the Durban area.
I am also a ward councillor responsible for the Kloof, Hillcrest, Winston Park, Gillitts and Everton areas. In council I sit on the Finance & Procurement portfolio committee and I am the Caucus spokesperson on Computer, Internet, Social Media and Aviation related issues.
With a flair for languages, Lisette is passionate about preserving the English language and fulfils this as a copywriter and editor for numerous online publications.
Her tertiary studies include communication and law, and she possesses a healthy interest in justice and the legal system.

Unfortunately, I was retrenched along with the rest of the research cluster at the end of 2012 when the city.mobi site was no longer financially viable, and since February 2013 I have been teaching Online PC Skills and Social Media – I provide private lessons to clients who need assistance with Windows programs, Social Media, Skype etc on all Laptops, PCs, Tablets and iPads.
